Welcome to Texarkana, Arkansas.
Texarkana, located on the border of Texas and Arkansas is composed of two cities with the same name. The Texarkana cities are unique in that they are connected by a man made line, State Line Avenue, which runs through the center of downtown Texarkana. Texarkana has a rich historical tapestry of southern charm and wild west spirit. Thanks to its blend of historical and architectural treasures, natural beauty, and conveniences unique to a metropolitan area, Texarkana has a vibrant growing future.
Texarkana was founded in the early 1870s where two railroads met at the Arkansas-Texas border. The town straddles the border and is, politically, two towns with the same name. State Line Avenue marks the boundary between the two states and the two cities. The only U.S. post office located in two states can be found at 500 State Line, where Photographer's Island is a popular spot for taking photos of people standing in two states simultaneously. Another unusual attraction is the Ace of Clubs House, built in the shape of a playing card "club."
Texarkana is also home to the Texarkana Regional Arts Center, which hosts touring exhibits and works by regional artists; the Perot Theater, where touring national and international acts perform in an ornate 1924 theatre; the interactive Discovery Place Children's Museum; and the Texarkana Museum of Regional History. Other attractions in the area include Millwood State Park; Old Washington Historic State Park; and the Clinton Center at Hope, where visitors can tour the childhood home of former President Bill Clinton.

Texarkana man get two-more years for attempted escape from jail
A man who walked away from the recreation yard at the Southwest Arkansas Community Correction Center and was captured less than a block away has been sentenced to serve two more years in jail.
Arrest may help solve string of city burglaries
One arrest early Friday morning put an end to a number of man hours involved in an attempt to solve 16 commercial burglaries in Texarkana, Ark., authorities said.
